Price Changes
For the first time since July 2007 I am changing my fees. This isn’t so much a price increase more a structural issue. If you require Theta healing the cost of a session up to one hour will be a flat rate of £30. From one - two hours will be £60. This is because of the emotional drain to myself and not wishing to overtax a client. Sometimes a session will only require 45 minutes or maybe an hour and a half. It depends on the issues and how much fixing I have to do. I do not like to go on for a further 15 or 30 minutes if I think a client has taken all the changes they can handle. Sometimes you need to assimilate what has been done.
Once I have completed my advanced Theta healing, prices will go up to accomodate these new skills, to reflect more national pricing.
Life Coaching sessions remain, for the time being, at £30 per hour (minimum one hour) - pro rata (to nearest half hour) for longer. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
January 2010 Meditation Course
A six week course will begin on Tuesday 19th January. The course will cost £30 payable in advance (non returnable). Sessions will start at 7pm and last 2-2.5 hours. Please email me to secure your place.
A second daytime course will start in February probably on a Friday morning. Again, if interested please email me.
October 2009: I will also be holding monthly Inspirational Workshops on the first saturday morning in the month from October 2009 - bookings are being taken now. The first few are in the planning stage and include:
- October: The Green Man
- November: Fairytales for Empowerment
- December: Midwinter Mysteries
- January: Moon Magic and the Wise Grandmother
- February: Cat Women
- March: Colour Magic
- April: The Language of Flowers
- May: The Power of the Sea
The fortnightly meditation group continues to run successfully. The sessions cost is £5 each and will start at 7pm, and last till around 10pm. Ring for details. Numbers will be kept low but if demand is high then a second group will be formed. I am keen to bring a similar group to sheltered housing complexes or residential homes for the elderly. Please contact me if you are interested in a group where you live/work.
Meditation has many benefits such as relaxation, and stress and worry relief; it enhances creativity and keeps the mind active; it can result in personal insights and growth. The sessions are also an opportunity to socialise and have a bit of fun; they do not conflict with any known, loving belief systems. Please come.
August 2009: Theta

One to One Colour Life-coaching Fees
A number of potential clients recently have asked me about my fees. They have asked if I offer the first session free which I feel is rather strange. The only agencies I know of that do this are solicitors who (I think) legally have to offer a half hour preliminary free session.
My fees are comparable to (and often cheaper than) other therapeutic services in the area. I charge £45 for a 90 minute session. This not only covers the session but preparatory work I do before hand, analysis afterwards and any follow up emails or telephone support. Therefore I feel the fees are reasonable. Equally importantly they are my bread and butter. If I do not charge I do not eat - it’s as simple as that.
I am going to ask a very simple but pertinent question. Would you ask the same question of your car servicing garage, your hairdresser, a private clinic; I’m sure the supermarket staff would look askance if anyone asked for their first trolley load of food for free. I do not understand what the difference is. I ask a fair fee for a very good piece of work. I am always keen to help and accomodate my clients but this is my work. I have to pay bills, the tax man and buy food. Please consider this if you are inclined to ask the question - is the first session free? No sorry. But - from time to time I run seasonal offers eg 10% off first sessions booked in January to encourage a new start; or a free session if you recommend someone who then books (and pays for) a session. Also if you book, and pay for in advance, a block of five sessions - I offer a sixth free. I think thats fair.
I realise that times are hard at the moment - it is for me too. But look on coaching as an investment in yourself - something that will achieve for you a better life. Many big companies pay for coaching for their staff recognising its importance and effectiveness.
In view of these comments I look forward to working with you in the future - book now - you’re worth it (to quote a famous make up company).

Winter Blues - how to cope
Top 10 tips on beating the blues:
1. Seratin HTP5 is a fantastic food supplement that counters the lack of natural light we experience in winter that prevents the making of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is made in the body by the action of sunlight. Without it we feel less positive and vital. Taking this supplement during winter can help fight winter blues or SADS.
2. Winter is a time for relection and rest so try to see it as a positive time rather than dark, cold and miserable. Snuggle up warmly and make those plans for the spring, read a good book, listen to music (uplifting in itself), learn to meditate.
3. Laughter makes us feel good so go to see a good rom-com film or read a funny book; listen or watch a funny programme or go to a comedy show with friends and laugh together
4. Keep a gratitude journal: find yourself a pretty journal and every night before you go to bed write about the things you feel grateful for eg health, food on the table, a friend ringing you, a neighbour popping in, a beautiful icy moon or rosy sunset. When you get up each morning say thanks for the start of a new day, new opportunities.
5. Have a pamper day - alone or with friends. See my article on pamper days on the Journal.
6. Breathe deeply. Few of us breathe properly so every day try to spend a few minutes, preferably outside, taking long, slow deep breathes. This will infuse your blood stream and brain with oxygen and help you feel awake and alive.
7. In the same vein, if you are a gym phobic like myself try to go for a long walk, preferably in the countryside, each week. This will connect you with the seasons, with nature, give your body a good stretch and improve your breathing.
8. Take up a hobby eg knitting. I’ve just spent three months re-learning the art and made several beautiful, unique, luxurious fluffy scarves for christmas presents. You could try jewelry making (lots of bead shops online), crochet, painting, card making, scrap-booking, cross-stitch, writing poetry, photography (that’ll get you out too) - whatever takes your fancy.
9. Make a dream collage - see elsewhere in this journal
10. Come to Lavender Fields for a course of coaching or try a positive thinking or self development workshop

British Summer Time is here
The clocks finally go forward again this coming sunday (30th March); days will get longer, temperatures will increase and sunlight get stronger. This is good news for most people living in the UK especially here up north. Winter can have devastating effects on our bodies. Many of us might suffer from SADs and generally we all have less energy, strength and mobility as our vitamin D levels drop. Vitamin D is a magical vitamin that cannot really be had from food because the best form is made in our own skin when we go out into the sunlight.
So as the days get longer and the sun brighter it is important to get out into the sun to banish SADs and build up vitamin D levels. “BUT” I hear you say! “Going out into the sun causes melanomas (skin cancers) so we need to use heavy duty sun block. Will the vitamin D still get made if we use sun block”? Unfortunately the answer is no. We need to have our skin exposed to real unadulterated sunlight. But that doesn’t mean putting our skin in danger. We only need to spend around 10 minutes a day exposed to sunlight to make lots of vitamin D - not enough to damage our skin. So as the sun gets stronger and the days longer don’t forget to top up your vitamin D levels and so improve your moods and wellbeing, mobility, strength and energy.
How to spend your 10 minutes in the sun? Try having breakfast in the garden; go for a brisk walk or run; do a bit of gardening or drawing in the garden; try some deep breathing, Tai Chi or Yoga. Whatever you choose to do keep as much of your skin bare as you dare without upsetting the neighbours. Step into the sunny magic.

Harvest Festival
Its that time of year. At school and nursery my grandchildren are learning songs about food, drawing pictures of food and writing poems about food. They are busy collecting items for their harvest ferstival celebrations too. We can have our own personal harvest festival celebrations too. Take a reflective look at the past year; then in your journal or on an A3 sheet of paper make a list of your achievements in that time; consider what is complete and what needs further work. Now celebrate your achievements by decorating your list with symbols of autumn and the harvest, and congratulate yourself on a successful year. Whatever is still unfinished - a work in progress - set yourself some target dates for completion. If you have completed all of your spring goals start thinking about what you would like to get out of life in the coming year. Maybe sign up for a course, or think about learning a new skill, or creating some artwork, - the long, dark evenings are great for taking time to develop ourselves. Or simply use the time for reflecting on the future and setting some new long term goals. The future is all about potential and that is what Harvest Festival celebrates - the culmination of the potential of spring and the fruition of summer.
